Sophisticated innovation in titration analysis

The AUT-501 Titrator is a high performance microprocessor controlled titration system which will perform many types of titration routines.

Features:
  • pH, Redox, pH stat, Amperometric, Conductometric, and Photometric Titrations can be performed.
  • Use up to (10) ABT-511 burets to Perform linked titrations and automated sequential titrations using different titration methods, preamplifiers, electrodes, burets and samples. Fully programmable for the most complex procedures.
  • New titration control for fast analysis time.
  • Conforms to GLP requirements. Includes a complete electrode confirmation and replacement routine for compliance and validation.
  • Results memory for 100 measured samples and total re-analysis function of previous data for 40 results.
  • True Multi-tasking operation. Modify and re-analyze data while titration is being performed.
  • True bi-directional RS-232 operation. Analog Controls also available (std.)
  • Options include a multi-sampler for 12, 24, or 36 samples, Balance Interface, Computer interface, External printer and Multiple preamplifiers (For multi-electrode analysis)
  • Pre-defined(20 fixed) and User defined methods(30) are fully programmable and available. The system includes 10 Linked Modes, Buret Dispense modes, Calibration Mode and Potential measurement Mode(s) as Standard.

Multiple Titration Methods and Routines:


There are many types of titration methods which can be performed. Methods include "Full Auto" for automatic end point detection and "End Level" for pre-set end-point level titrations. pH Stat titrations can be performed, and the system allows for complete control and automation of Conductivity ("V" and "L" type intersection) Methods. A Special Algorythm for ASTM D-664 and D-2896 Petroleum Neutralization Titrations are also built-in. Also a few special routines are built in for Acidity, Salinity, Alkali, and Total Hardness.
The Control parameters are fully programmable and extremely flexible to accomodate the most demanding titration requirements. Full calculation control for up to 5 end points, linking of multiple titrations using multiple pre-amps is possible. Amperometric and colorimetric analysis is simple with the available sealed titration cell, photometric adapter and wide range on electrode systems.

 

AUT-501 Titration Methods


The AUT-501 has the ability to perform many types of titration methods. This allows for unmatched flexibility to perform all type of titrations. A true recalculation mode allows for re-analysis of previous data after control parameters or calculation formulas have been modified.

Listed below are the methods available as standard equipment on the AUT-501. Also identified are a few important control parameters and explanation as to how they work.

Used to titrate to a fixed volume or potential and then analyze data for end points based on programmable control parameters(ncluding Auto or set points). Extremely flexible and important when using the re-calculation mode. All data is resident.
4 Blank Titration Mode Used to measure very small volumes in blank titration
5 Non-Aqueous Titration Mode Used for Non-aqueous titrations. Uses very good potential stability parameters for equilibrium between additions.
6 Potentiometric Titration

Used primarily for precipitation, red-ox, or chelate titrations with ion electrode with a small potential change at the end point.
7 Potentiometric Titration

Used primarily for titrations with a large potential change at the end point. (strong acid / strong base titration)
8 Conductivity Titration Unique conductometric titration. EP is determined by "V" intersection. EP is judged as the point of intersection of two lines after titration.
9 Conductivity Titration Unique conductometric titration. EP is determined by "L" intersection. EP is judged as the point of intersection of two lines after titration.
10 Petroleum Neutralization Titration Total Base value of petroleum (TBN), Hydrochloric, non-aqueous titration. (ASTM 664)
11 Petroleum Neutralization Titration Total Acid value of petroleum (TAN), Perchloric, non-aqueous titration. (ASTM 2896)
12 Petroleum Neutralization Titration Mode for measuring strong acid value + total acid value, strong base value + total base value
13 pH Stat titration, pH adjustment Standard mode for pH stat analysis for unknown buffering action in sample.
14 pH Stat titration, pH adjustment pH stat analysis for strong buffering action in sample.
15 pH Stat titration, pH adjustment pH stat analysis for weak buffering action in sample.
16 Acidity Titration Mode Dedicated for measuring Acidity
17 Salinity Titration Mode Dedicated for measuring Salinity

19 Total hardness Titration Mode Dedicated for measuring Total Hardness (Ca and Mg)
20 Preliminary Test Titration Mode Used to help the operator determine the best titration parameters upon initial titration of a new sample. This mode uses the automatic EP detection algorythm.
21 to 50 User Methods Mode Used to custom tailor titration methods specific to the customers application. Freely programmable and can incorporate all of the parameters of the standard pre-defined methods. Ful calculation control is possible. Parameters also include titrating buret (1-10), electrode preamp and type, etc.
51 to 60 Link Mode Used to link other titration modes together to perform sequetial analysis of very complex titrations for one particular sample. Allows for multiple chemistries, dosing, and using all type of titration modes, reagents and electrode systems.
61 to 70 ABT Dispense Mode Used to control the ABT-511 buret for adding a fixed volume of reagent. fully programmable rate, buret, etc.
71 to 80 AST Unit control Modes Used for the AST measuring equipment
81 to 85 ABT Fixed Speed Injector Used to control the ABT-511 buret for fixed speed injection of reagent. (buret 1-10, volume and speed)
89 pH Calibration Mode Used with the TTT-510 Sampler to automatically perform a 3 point pH calibration.
90 Potential Measurement Mode Used to Measure potentials from attached preamps. Will be printed out. Select Electrode channel, preamp, wait time, etc.
91-100 Reserved Modes Used for expansion of Instrument

Concentration Calculations

Up to 30 different types of calculation formula are available for use with the different methods in the AUT-501. The calculation control becomes critical in allowing the concentration of the sample under analysis to be determined and accurately printed.

Complete documentation is available via the onboard printer / plotter as well as external output to a LIMS system. There is also software available to output the data results to a PC in text format and can be loaded into an excel spreadsheet automatically for further data storage and recall or archiving purposes.

For GLP/GMP Compliance, both real time and post titration or smoothed data can be obtained for record keeping. Notice the maximum first derivative value which corresponds to the end point of the titration. Also the electrode calibration date, time and information can be printed out.
