TOC-200 Portable / Panel mount TOC AnalyzerThe DKK-TOA TOC Monitor is used to continuously measure TOC levels in pure water based on the oxidation method using UV light on a TiO2, titanium oxide, catalyst by measuring the electrical conductivity of the water. It also indicates the Conductivity(resistivity) of the water at the same time. The monitor is intended to control process water quality. Principle of Operation: The measuring method calculates TOC concentration from the difference before and after oxidation of a sample using a UV light source and TiO2 catalyst. The photo-oxidation catalyst, TiO2, with a high affinity for water, is coated on the internal wall of the oxidizing light source. Water decomposition and OH radical generation takes place on the surface of the catalyst when the UV lamp is activated. The organic carbon component decomposes into CO2 and water. Since CO2 generated in the reaction exists in equilibrium in water, H+ ions and HCO3- ions proportional to the amount of CO2 which will be generated and hence the electrical conductivity of the water increases. We then monitor the increase in conductivity. The ranges are quite low. 0-20ugC/L, 0-200ug/L and 0-2000ug/L, and dependent on resistivity. The measuring interval is intermittent at 2-5 minute intervals. It has 4-20 output
and RS-232 alarm levels. Flow rate is about 100 mls/minute or less, response
is 3 minutes or less for 90% response. Features:
Range of operation: The instrument measuring range is according to the table below, three ranges from 0.0 to 20.00ugC/L.
